“Herstory: The greatest story never told” A course about women throughout “herstory” dating back 30,000 years ago when women knew their power. Women were good enough. Women walked into a room without apologizing for who they were. Matriarchal cultures honored women as healers, shamans and priestesses. This course will improve a woman’s self-esteem by challenging our culture which tends to give the message that a woman is never pretty enough, thin enough or young enough. Very Empowering!
Life coaching tools:
Communication: The importance of practicing good communication are outlined in this seminar or workshop. Lorna works with individuals, couples or teams on discussing the 3 parts to effective communication. Clarity, Confidence and Commitment are the tools of good communication. To be clear, we must be clear with ourselves on what it is we need to communicate. Often we communicate only our emotions, not the need that lies behind that emotion.
To be clear is the first step in good communication.
Confidence involves feeling that your message is important and that what you feel and think are worth communicating to others. Knowing that to speak your truth does make a difference. Working with clients and their self-esteem issues becomes an important part in this stage of communication. If we do not feel our opinion matters, we will not communicate our thoughts to others.
The final stage of good communication if making a commitment to communicating with those we spend time with every day. This is often our family and our co-workers or managers. In session we draw a circle of commitment and those we live with often become inside our circle of commitment. This helps us decide when we will communicate and when we can let it go. If we are committed to communicating with certain people, we will make the time to get clear, have confidence and talk to those we live and work with every day.
This helps create an ‘engaged’ work and family life. When we do not communicate with those close to us, our relationships cannot become all that they are meant to be. This workshop uses real issues to work through and creates a plan of action for those who participate so that they can begin to communicate more effectively at work and at home.
