About Lorna Tirman

Lorna has worked as a registered nurse since 1980. She obtained her Master’s degree in health care in 1990, and her PhD in Psychology in 2000. She wrote her dissertation on women and self-esteem in our culture focusing on how difficult it is to honor ourselves in a culture that honors youth and beauty over wisdom and experience.

Lorna lived in Europe for 7 years and visited many ancient sites, which gave her the insight of ancient cultures and ways of life, which were different than that Western culture. Ancient cultures honored the feminine within us, including emotions and nurturing which has been downplayed in our culture over ‘doing’ and accomplishments. In her practice as a life coach she helps clients to honor “being” as well as “doing”.

Lorna specializes in issues of self-esteem, which can affect every area of our life including personal, professional, spiritual and emotional. With her background in nursing, Lorna will assess the body, mind and spirit in coaching her clients to determine how balanced the client is in all realms of life. Lorna is enjoying her life coaching practice in Truckee, California where she runs workshops on personal values, core beliefs, self-esteem and communication. All of these tools and insights can help us to move forward in our lives and obtain what we truly want and need. Lorna likes to think of herself as helping people to succeed. She uses Louise Hay’s principle that if we are not healthy in our emotional and spiritual lives, we will not be healthy physically. The use of positive affirmations, which can replace negative self-talk, is a powerful way to transform oneself. Lorna works with individual clients, couples, and businesses on issues of teamwork, conflict resolution and honoring our differences so we can be happier at work and at home.

Lorna Tirman lives in Truckee with her husband and two teenage daughters. Lorna can be reached at Labyrinth of Life Coaching Service at PO Box 990, Truckee, California 96161; or by calling her at 530-412-1613; or by using her contact page.
